The Office of the Ombuds and Employee Assistance Program provides support for employees who are managing work or personal challenges. This is a safe and confidential space to ask for help, receive short-term counseling, and/or get connected to relevant agencies and organizations that can provide ongoing support.
The Office of the Ombuds assists faculty and staff with informal resolution of concerns or problems in the workplace. It provides a safe place to help individuals review options for managing or resolving interpersonal disputes and university-related problems. The Ombuds is a neutral, confidential, informal and independent resource for employees who seek alternatives for resolving conflicts or grievances.
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can:
- assist employees and members of their households with personal issues through no-cost counseling services, as well as legal, financial planning and work-life balance resources.
- provide support to departments experiencing tragedy or loss, consultation for supervisors, and assessment and referral services for employees in need of resources.
- connect and refer employees to local agencies and organizations that provide support and emergency services.
