Lanai Greenhalgh, M.A., M.S., LCSW

Director and University Ombuds

Lanai GreenhalghLanai has been a member of the University community since July 2008, and serves as the director of the Office of the Ombuds and Employee Assistance Program. She has worked in the mental health field as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2001 in areas such as program development, counseling, and crisis response.

Lanai has a master’s degree in social services administration from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree in communication from Utah State University. She serves as Ombuds for CSU faculty and staff. She is a member of the International Ombudsman Association, the Employee Assistance Professionals Association and the International Association of Employee Assistance Professionals in Education.

In her spare time, Lanai enjoys hiking, as well as singing and playing folk music on her guitar.

Kathy Rickard, Ph.D.

Faculty Ombuds

Kathy RickardKathy has a long-standing commitment to Colorado State University, where she has served as a faculty member in the Department of Psychology since 1983. She earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology and her master’s degree from the University of Georgia, and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama. She completed her internship at the Brown University School of Medicine. Kathy has been a clinical psychologist in Colorado since 1983. She is a member of the International Ombudsman Association and American Psychological Association. She serves as Ombuds for CSU faculty.

Kathy enjoys hiking, backpacking and spending time on the beautiful rivers of Colorado.

Emma Chavez, M.Ed.

Community Resources Coordinator

Emma ChavezEmma Chavez is CSU’s Community Resources Coordinator and manages the CARE Program. She connects employees to the services, programs, and activities offered in Northern Colorado that offer health and social services.

Emma has more than eight years of experience in care coordination and case management. She earned a master’s degree from CSU in counseling and career development and a bachelor’s degree in public relations and social work from NUR University in Bolivia, South America.

In her spare time, Emma enjoys spending time with her husband and sons. Emma habla español.
